Paul Anthony "Tony" Scudder, age 70, died August 17, 2016 at John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Born June 16, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, son of the late Ralph Paul and Lillian (Reynolds) Scudder. He was a member of Blodgett First Baptist Church, where he was ordained February 21, 1993 and served as a Deacon, a member of the Masonic Lodge at Morley, Missouri, he served on the Scott County Rural Fire Department from 1989 to 2006 (Chief 1998-2003), was a volunteer for M.A.W. from 1990 to 2007, received B.M.U. Employee of the Year in 1991 and received Municipal Service Award in December of 1994. 
He graduated from Kelly High School in 1964, was veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving with the Seabees during the Viet Nam War and worked for Board of Municipal Utilities as Shift Supervisor for Sikeston Power Station before retiring. 

On December 14, 1968 at Evansdale, Iowa he married Vivian L. (Boyles) Scudder; she survives of the home in Blodgett. 

Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Amber Scudder of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa (Scudder) and David Sanford of Blodgett; two sisters and brothers-in-law, R. Annette (Scudder) and Thomas Poole of Columbia, Missouri and Paula (Scudder/McDowell) and Riley Brown of Morehouse, Missouri; six grandchildren, Cameron (Erica) Jarvis, Tyler Scudder, Tryston Jarvis, Bryce Jarvis, Emma Scudder and Jaxon Scudder. 

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, at Ponder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21. The Rev. Dan Stevens, pastor of Commerce Baptist Church, will officiate. 

Burial will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery with full military honors. 

Pallbearers will be Dewey Harper, Don Riley, Cameron Jarvis, Mark Scudder, Ricky Colbert and David Sanford. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Scudder, Tryston Jarvis, Jaxon Scudder, Curtis Gross, Tim Jarvis, Jamie Wagoner and Shane Washburn.
