Non-LODD - Retired Fire Chief Larry Shannon
 Larry Wayne Shannon, 67, of Lexington, MO died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home.
 Larry was born on December 28, 1948 in Carrollton, MO to Wayne Silas and Dorothy Mae (Bristow) Shannon. He first married Connie Sue Ross of Albuquerque, NM on March 4, 1971. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2010. He later married Claudia Seaton of Lexington on March 19, 2011. She survives of the home.
 Additional survivors include; one son, Brandon S. Shannon of Kansas City, Mo and his fiancé, Abby Smith; two daughters, Tabitha and Val Tunnell of Denton, TX and Danika Shannon and her husband, Keith Rulo of Bosworth, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Garry “Gizmo” and Debbie Shannon of Carrollton, MO; one sister, Carolyn Stark of Gladstone, MO; 13 grandchildren, Megan, Blaine, Hayden, Madison, Valerie, Izaiyah, Noah, Myleigh, Remington, Ruger, Savage, Sienna and Teegan; one step-son, Dillon Davis of the home. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Shannon.
 Larry was a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam. He was Brick Layer for 40 years, 15 of those years with MGM Masonry. He was a member of the Brick Layers Union local #15 in North Kansas City, MO. He was a member of the Norborne Fire Department for 30 years where he was a fire chief for several years. He lived most of his life in Norborne, MO before moving to Lexington in 2011. He was of the Baptist faith.
 The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Larry Shannon memorial fund. 
 Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne. Visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Military honors will be provided by the Pence- Lovell- England VFW Post # 1773 in Carrollton, MO.
